It all began with a move to one of the villages located within the national park near Lake Kerkini. Life here flows at a completely different pace than in the city. Time isn’t broken down into separate segments, but is perceived as a continuous flow in which events aren’t divided into significant and insignificant ones. Here, every moment is special because it is woven from subtle shifts in light, the movement of the air, and the ever-changing hu es of the water’s surface. The same shore looks different here every day.
Beauty here is neither isolated nor emphasized—it is everywhere. In the diversity of forms, in the imperfection of lines, in the ever-changing nature that never repeats itself. Life in such surroundings ceases to be a sequence of events. It becomes a continuous presence, where what matters is not the result, but the very process of living in the moment.
We live and create in this very place because we cannot remain indifferent to this diversity and beauty. Our artistic practice is rooted in the direct experience of the natural environment of Lake Kerkini. Our work combines visual art and craft practices (making natural incense, candles, etc.).
Life by the lake gradually changes one’s perception and understanding of things. Here, it becomes clear that humans do not exist outside of nature nor do they control it. We are merely one of the species present within it.
Therefore, we strive not merely to treat nature as the subject of our art, but to use our art to better understand nature and build a different relationship with it—one based on perceiving it as an independent, living system that exists beyond human interpretation. We create our works with the aim of expressing our experience of a deep connection with nature as we understand it, and thereby contribute to fostering a more attentive view of the natural world and a deeper, more respectful interaction with it.
